This fossilized tooth comes from Carcharocles megalodon, the largest predatory shark to have ever lived, which roamed the oceans during the Miocene to Pliocene epochs, approximately 23 to 3.6 million years ago. Measuring about 3 inches, this tooth preserves the classic triangular shape with serrated edges, adapted for slicing through large prey.
