19.98 g Hyalite Opal on Smoky Quartz from the Erongo Mountains, Namibia. This rare combination specimen features sharply terminated smoky quartz coated in botryoidal hyalite opal.

In natural light, the hyalite appears nearly clear with a faint green tint. Under UV light, it fluoresces an intense neon green — a diagnostic trait of hyalite caused by trace uranium within its structure.

The contrast between the crystalline smoky quartz and the amorphous hyalite creates both visual depth and geological rarity. Hyalite commonly forms as small nodules; its presence on a fully terminated smoky quartz crystal is highly uncommon.
