Pinguicula 'Florian' is a registered hybrid butterwort created by Oliver Gluchs in 1998–1999, named after his eldest son. Officially recognized as a cultivar in 2004, this unique plant is a cross between Pinguicula debbertiana and Pinguicula jaumavensis 'Pale Purple Flower.' Both parent species are small, giving P. 'Florian' its compact size.
When grown under strong lighting, P. 'Florian' can develop a brilliant bright red color. During the growing season, it may produce around 25 carnivorous leaves, while in winter it can form up to 100 non-carnivorous leaves depending on care conditions.
